About Stone Pine Press

Stone Pine Press was established in 2003 to make deserving books available to readers. Originally planned as a self-publishing operation, Stone Pine Press soon discovered numerous authors who had something to say, many with an existing following. As a result, the mission of Stone Pine Press has become to bring deserving fiction and nonfiction to the attention of the book reading public.

However, Stone Pine Press does not read unsolicited manuscripts. The manuscripts in the pipeline from friends and from our own writing has created a ten-year backlog. Stone Pine Press is a two-person operation and does not foresee adding employees.

A member of both SPAN and PMA, Stone Pine Press is committed to encouraging writing and publishing books of merit in all general. Please see the list of Forthcoming Titles.

About the Principals

Mabel Armstrong spent 28 years teaching chemistry, and administering a community college science department before she discovered her entrepreneurial side. For fifteen years she bought and sold rental properties, usually used and bruised properties in need of fixing. Her success in the field led her to believe everyone should own at least one rental as a financial cushion. Convinced that more people could benefit from rental ownership if the process was more accessible, she wrote How to Invest in Rental Properties Without Mortgaging Your Soul.

Then she discovered that publishers were not much interested if an author was not already a big name draw. Given the choice of spending a year developing a book proposal and shopping it around big publishers who would then do little or nothing to promote the book while exercising full production control, Armstrong came to the same conclusion as have increasing numbers of authors. Better to do it yourself. So, Stone Pine Press, Inc. was born.

About the time Mabel was making these decisions, Robert Armstrong was finding he had friends who wrote well, but experienced the same negative messages from the publishing world. Robert’s first acquisition for Stone Pine Press Inc. was Counting From Ten and Other Stories by Michael Montoure.

Robert is an Enterprise Network Engineer for f5 Networks in Seattle Washington.
